I don't really like steamed bread or mantou -- I think it's tasteless, gummy, and boring. I did, however, find a great version of it on the street in Chongqing.
This version was dry and and fluffy -- it was almost bread-like. The bottom had been swathed in something sweet and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The result was crunchy and only a bit sweet. Fresh out of the steamer with a side of soy bean juice, these were a filling breakfast.
