Another reason I didn't blog much in December is because the cold weather and a lack of motivation kept me in Jiujiang. It's a new year, and I've already gotten myself to Nanjing. So things are looking up. I finish teaching later this month, and am in the throes of planning my excursion to Western China. I'm already anticipating the great posts that should come out of visiting Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.
I got an unexpected present this morning, when I discovered that my browser is finally letting me view Typepad blogs (I've been thwarted from seeing these since I arrived in China). So I've been gorging myself on food blog content all morning.
Check these out if you have the chance:
Noodle Pie - Oh, I have been wanting to read this one forever. Journalist Graham Halliday is living and blogging in Vietnam, and the photos are to die for.
On My Plate - Creen is a Hawaii-born, California-dwellin' chowhound. Love the writing.
'Ono Kine Grindz - Reid is based in Hawaii.
The Singapore Blogs
Renee from Shiokadelicious says Singaporeans are food obssessed; I've now found
three such obssessors.
Shiokadelicious - Renee's site. This one has been recommended to me for ages, and now I can finally read it!
Ruth -- she and her husband are also in Singapore.
Umami is also Singapore-based, but she recently did some Shanghai posts.
I'm so pleased to finally be able to read these sites. Thank you, Chinese government server screening department!!!
